Leonard Nimoy

The legendary actor Leonard Nimoy will be the Headliner for the Sci-Fi Experience this coming November 13-15, 2009. This Boston native will be back in his home town for Saturday only participating in the Sci-Fi Experience, signing autographs, doing photo-ops with fans, and speaking about his illustrious career at a Q&A panel during the day. Heather Menzies Urich

Heather Menzies Urich starred as Louisa VonTrapp in the Oscar-winning film “The Sound of Music.” She also appeared in the films “Hawaii,” and the cult favorite “Sssssss.” She has starred in the TV show “Logan’s Run” and guest starred in shows such as “Vega$” and “Spenser For Hire” with her late husband Robert Urich. She currently spearheads the Robert Urich Foundation for Cancer Research and Patient Care which NEFanX is proud to have as our official charity.  Be sure to join us at the Pop Culture Experience November 13-15, 2009!

     
Gareth David-Lloyd

Gareth David-Lloyd plays Ianto Jones on the international television series phenomenon TORCHWOOD. After a short stint on the new Dr. Who series, Torchwood was spun off with much fanfare, and many fans of science fiction who never enjoyed Dr. Who have become huge fans of Captain Jack Harkness, and his man, Ianto, and the rest of the cast. Wen Spencer

The 2003 John Campbell Award Winner, Wen Spencer spent twenty years living in Pittsburgh, so its only natural that she sets her stories there. Currently she's living outside of Boston with her husband and son. She's a fan of Japanese anime and manga, and it flavors her writing. TINKER won the 2003 Sapphire Award and was nominated for the Romantic Times Review Choice Award for Best Fantasy. Meet Wen as part of the Sci-Fi Experience November 13-15, 2009.

     
Bettina Kurkoski

Bettina M. Kurkoski entered TokyoPop's Rising Stars of Manga contest and her entry "Axis Lumen" can be found in Volume 2! Since that time she's become well known for her own manga "My Cat Loki". In addition she's been an illustrator in both the Star Trek: The Next Generation Volume 1 manga, and was the cover artist for the Star Trek Volume 2 manga "Kakan ni Shinkou". The Anime Kaiju Experience welcomes Bettina as our Artist Headliner, and we hope you'll enjoy our special Souvenir Book at the convention featuring her cover art. She'll also be doing special works of our Celebrity guests, for a special collectable available only at the New England Fan Experience, November 13-15, 2009.

   

 

John de Lancie

The incredible actor John de Lancie, who brought us such characters as Q from Star Trek Next Generation and Colonel Frank Simmons in Stargate SG-1, will be joining us for the Sci-Fi Experience November 13-15, 2009.  He will be there all weekend signing autographs, doing photo-ops and interacting with members, so be sure to purchase your membership here so you can meet him!

     

Sonny Strait

Comic artist and voice actor Sonny Strait is most known for landing the role of Krillin on Dragonball Z.  Since then, he has landed many other great parts fans recognize, from Maes Hughes in Fullmetal Alchemist, Lupin III and most currently, Usopp in One Piece.  The artist side of Sonny has done work for Elfquest and manga leader Tokyopop.  Join us at the Anime Kaiju Experience November 13-15, 2009 to meet Sonny!

     
The Others

The Others began recording songs about Lost in 2006 as a side project of their other band, The Thungs. After the awesome response to a fan video for the song, "Caught in a Net", the Others started taking the project more seriously and over the next three seasons recorded a song for nearly every episode of Seasons 3 and all of seasons 4 & 5. The band will release their newest album, Season 5, on August 15th.  See the band perform live Friday night and at their panels throughout the weekend at the Pop Culture Experience 13-15, 2009.

     
James Hong

James Hong, a man of a thousand faces, has appeared in over 450 roles in movies and television.  His television credits include the original Kung Fu, Hawaii 5-O, and Seinfeld.  He has been in many films such as Chinatown and Big Trouble in Little China.  He was also the voice of Mr. Ping in Kung Fu Panda and has worked in numerous animated films and series.  Come meet the amazing actor at the Pop Culture Experience 13-15, 2009.

     
Corin Nemec

Corin Nemec is a versatile actor who began his career as a child star cast in Tucker: The Man and His Dream.  He followed up that performance with lead roles in various TV movies, and the series lead for the season 3 of "Parker Lewis Can't Lose".  Moving on to the next level of his life and career Corin's most recent roles have been much darker. As an adult, he has been cast in many roles, most notably as Jonas Quinn in the television series Stargate SG-1, and later as serial killer Ted Bundy making the full transition from child star to serious actor. We welcome Corin to the Pop Culture Experience this November 13-15, 2009!

     
Aaron Dismuke

Aaron Dismuke is a talented young voice actor who was only twelve years old when he did the voice of Alphonse Elric for Fullmetal Alchemist.  Even being so young, he has already started to fill his list of roles, voicing characters in everything from Ouran High School Club to darker anime like Trinity Blood as Ion Fortuna.  Make sure you head over to the Anime Kaiju Experience November 13-15, 2009 to meet Aaron!

     
Paul Gavins

Paul Gavins was born in the “Golden Age” of Japanese Sci Fi in 1965. To this day his favorite kaiju eiga is Monster Zero. He wanted to pursue a professional career in special effects but his efforts were redirected toward more practical fields, thus he chose a middle ground and studied sculpture at the University of Akron’s Folk School of Art.  Having roundly failed as an artist he entered the medical field and now practices as a Physician Assistant in neurosurgery in Madison, Wisconsin.  Come see Paul and his amazing Kiryu at the Anime Kaiju Experience November 13-15, 2009!

     
Kevin Parker

Kevin W. Parker, Senior Computer Scientist for Computer Sciences Corporation/CSC, has been a software engineer at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center for over twenty-five years, supporting missions including the Hubble Space Telescope, Landsat-7, the James Webb Space Telescope, and (currently) the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope. He has been interested in astronomy since he was eight and a close follower of the space program since he was ten. Join us to meet Kevin at the Science & Tech Experience November 13-15, 2009!

     
Robb Demarest

Robb Demarest, a native of Albany, N.Y., joined the Ghost Hunters International team after three years with Florida Ghost Team, an affiliate of The Atlantic Paranormal Society. Robb's responsibilities on the team have ranged from research, technology management and client relations, to his current position as assistant director. He has also participated in speaking engagements on behalf of the group.  Join us at the Science & Tech Experience on November 13-15, 2009 to meet Robb!

     
Kristyn Gartland

Kristyn is a cast member and also the case manager of Ghost Hunters. She has also been with TAPS for over 6 years. She joined Ghost Hunters after they assisted her with a personal experience. She has investigated many homes and businesses over the years and teaches a class called Paranormal 101 to educate as many people as possible on the subject.  Meet Kristyn at the Science & Tech Experience November 13-15, 2009!

     
James Prego

James Prego, ND. is a practicing Naturopathic Doctor on Long Island, NY. Dr. Prego was voted Best Alternative Doctor of 2009 by the Long Island Press. He is also an adjunct professor of Biology at Molly College. Dr. Prego is a long-time fan of science fiction and has been a guest at conventions such as I-Con, Philcon, Arisia, Lunacon, Albacon, and Pi-Con, where he has been on panels discussing xenobiology, health in space, life extension, fusions of biology and technology, and how natural ways of healing fit in a sci-fi/high-tech world.  Come speak with James at the Science & Tech Experience on November 13-15, 2009!

     
Joe Silva & The Aexeous Robot

Joe Silva has spent the last 25 years building and perfecting Aexeous by himself. Originally designed as a prototype robot for the military along with several other robot prototypes for the police force and private security, Aexeous is the only remaining robot that survived from four other robots that Joe built for his business. Aexeous stands 12’ tall, weighs 800lbs and can move, talk and interact with people in real time. He has many sensors and cameras all over his body and opens up on all sides so people can see what it looks like inside (everything is labeled and color coded). Aexeous has also been modified to become a unique and creative teaching tool to help inspire kids by doing school demonstrations all over New England as well as a very successful venue attraction. Gregory Mone

Gregory Mone is a contributing editor at Popular Science magazine and the author of the new book, The Truth About Santa: Wormholes, robots, and What Really Happens on Christmas Eve. His feature articles have appeared in Wired, Boston, Discover and National Geographic Adventure, covering the science of Hollywood, brain implants, autonomous robots, surfing and mythology. He's also a novelist; his next book, Fish, to be published by Scholastic in July 2010, is about a treasure-hunting pirate.  Meet Gregory at the Science & Tech Experience November 13-15, 2009!

     
Reginald Glidden Jr.

Reginald Glidden will share some of his experiences that he has gained in his 25 years of Ghostly Encounters and Paranormal experiences. Reginald will bring some of the devices that are used during an actual investigation. Enjoy the ride as Reginald shares some of the experiences he has gained in the pursuit of understanding why Ghosts remain on Earth and Spirits come back after having crossed over to the other side. Devo Spice is a nerdcore and comedy rapper from New Jersey who has become one of the most popular artists on the nationally syndicated Dr. Demento Show.
